Starting My Own Blog as a Developer: A Record of the First Steps

Sunday, August 11, 2024

It's been quite some time since I first thought about starting a blog. For various reasons, the idea never made it into action. First, I felt very awkward about writing my thoughts outside of work. Secondly, as a developer, I wanted to create my own site to start a blog, so I didn't want to take the easy way out and just post on a pre-made platform. Also, after work or on weekends, the desire to just relax and unwind was quite strong.

Then, the birth of my child completely changed my life, creating a gap between my routine and this new way of living. That gap was filled by the blog. Perhaps I wanted to organize the many new thoughts swirling in my head into writing, or maybe it was high time to turn what had been milling in my mind into action.

Furthermore, I wanted to create my own space. If it was just about writing, I could have signed up on one of the many popular platforms and started posting. But as a developer, I wanted to build my own space to post my thoughts. Slowly, during the brief moments of rest after putting the baby to sleep, I worked on it. By the time my child was around 50 days old, I managed to open the blog, albeit in a very simple form. I don't know how long I'll be able to keep it up, but since I've started, I plan to share a variety of everyday thoughts whenever I can find the time.
